About Me:

Picture of me.

I am a quantitative biologist with an interest in systems biology including topics such as modeling and making sense of complex or data-rich biological systems, dynamics in biology, and how cells build and maintain tissues. I also find the areas of cell and tissue engineering exciting. I completed my Ph.D. at the University of Toronto in Canada in Cell and Developmental Biology under the supervision of Prof. Rudolf Winklbauer and Prof. Ashley Bruce where I studied the biophysics of cell-cell adhesion formation and it's impact on tissue structure. There I developed my ability to communicate computational and scientific ideas to varied audiences, scientific analysis skills, data manipulation, analysis, and visualization skills using Python, familiarity with experimental biology and the scientific method, and an enthusiasm for working with new kinds of data. I have worked on projects from conception to publication, including experimental design and execution, organization and analysis of the resulting data using computational tools I wrote/designed, drawing of conclusions, and writing of peer-reviewed, published scientific articles.
